From the left is a sketch of a young child's back; a closer view of a child's legs and bottom from behind; a left arm holding something; a right arm; three individual hands; a section of a child's face in profile from behind; a baby sitting down looking upwards from behind; a boy standing and facing the viewer; the front of a leg; the back of a baby sitting down. All these sketches are executed in black conté and highlighted with white conté, typical of Leighton's sketches. There are also an outline of a pair of legs walking and two heads.
