DescriptionPurser’s lifelong friend, the artist Louise Breslau, introduced her to several Paris-based artists and helped her form her collection. In 1888, on behalf of Purser, Breslau negotiated the purchase of Flower Piece (Flowers) by Quost, an artist admired by Vincent van Gogh. It was the first painting gifted by the FNCI to the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art (now Hugh Lane Gallery) in 1924.
